Edward Warren - a teacher with a fine reputation.

Edward Warren was for seven years Senior Tutor in Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and Resident Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra there.

In this capacity his principal role was overseeing the course of the Junior Fellows in Conducting [as well as offering advice and encouragement to budding young conductors from a diversity of musical disciplines within the College].

During his period of tenure the track record of the RNCM was impressive indeed in the competition successes of its Junior Fellows. These included:-

Paul Mann - Former Assistant Conductor to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Later a Donatella Flick Competition winner and Assistant Conductor to the London Symphony Orchestra. Now a busy international artist and  Chief Conductor of the Odense Symphony Orchestra in Denmark.

Garry Walker - Winner of the 1999 Leeds Competition. Now Chief Guest Conductor of the  Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic [in London].

Baldur Brönnimann - Former Assistant Conductor to the Northern Sinfonia [and conductor of the Young Sinfonia] - Newcastle. Now building an increasing international reputation as well as succeeding Edward Warren in leading the conducting studies at the RNCM.

Andre de Ridder - Former Assistant Conductor to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and now closely associated to the Ulster Orchestra

Andrei Danilov - Former Young Conductor in Association to the Northern Sinfonia [Newcastle] and now building a fine reputation in his native Russia.

Other highly successful students have included Stuart Stratford, Robin Newton and Kristofer Wahlander.
